Italian Night in Downtown Austin

September found us in downtown Austin.  Mariela and Dennis Dyer arranged a special opening for us at La Traviata Italian Bistro on Sunday, September 30.  We enjoyed a special Italian repast starting with prosecco.   

A pioneer of dining on Congress Avenue, La Traviata opened in 2000 and has been serving “true Italian comfort” featuring fresh ingredients and authentic recipes ever since.  Located at 314 Congress Avenue, the bistro is cozy and warm, conveying a “Euro-chic” atmosphere.

Salad:

Heirloom Tomato with arugula, buratta cheese , olives and a lemon vinaigrette

Veal Piccata with  mashed potatoes and haricot vert paired with     Roero Arneis ’11 Vietti

Pasta course served family style:

Spaghetti Carbonara and

Spaghetti Bolognese

Tiramisu
