The Wine Party Celebrating the Chapter’s Wines at the home of Alyce and Terry Richardson was a huge success.  In Alyce’s words, “our vivacious members socialized amid warming fireplaces and flickering candles that dispelled the damp, cloudy afternoon outside."  The food, catered by Whole Foods Market, was delicious, and the varied wines, paired by Cellarmaster Austan Librach, complemented the hot and cold appetizers and sweet dessert bites. Thanks, Alyce and Terry for your warm hospitality, and thanks Chef Gustav for wrangling the appetizers and making everything seem so smooth and effortless.  Among the now-rare and highly rated wines was the 2004 Finca Sandoval (RP 93), an unfiltered and unfined wine of 83% Syrah, 9% Monastrell, and 8% Bobal.  Grown on a high-elevation vineyard and aged 11 months in French oak, it is termed “a beautiful wine.”  Other notable wines included a 2004 Terrebrune, Bandol Rouge (RP 85) and a 2006 Ribera del Duero “Torremoron” (RP 90).
