Helayne and Gustav O’Keiff arranged a spectacular dinner at Mettle, a new restaurant in East Austin on March 26. Owner Bridget Dunlap named this, her first restaurant, Mettle because it speaks to who she is, persistent and able to overcome many obstacles: “We all face adversity at times; how we move beyond it to triumph, is an indication of our true mettle.”
The kitchen team has designed the bistro menu to incorporate the freshest ingredients, many of them local with well-honed technique, and a sense of playful inspiration. Décor features local artist Ian Shults, glass artist Leigh Wyatt, Ion Art metal sculptors, and woodwork artist Pedro Leal. The menu below showcases Mettle's commitment to local sources and fresh takes:
trio of assorted bruschetta appetizers
spring tomato caviar, mozzarella, basil, and olive oil
house-made Italian sausage
white bean salad
NV Santome Prosecco, Italy
