Our first educational event for 2015 was conducted by Harrison Jones, owner of William Harrison Imports, who specializes in Argentine wines. The event was held at Urban Standard Restaurant, with Chef Trevor Jones selecting and preparing the hors d'oeuvres to pair with the seven Argentine wines being poured. Member Wendy Watts, who has "spear-headed" our educational events efforts, chaired this event. Those in attendance gave the event high praise.

Course I

Food: HORS D'OEUVRES: Warm Veggie Spring Rolls with marinated cabbage, sweet potato, mushrooms, sticky black bean sauce; Beet Pastrami Sliders with kraut, swiss cheese, sriracha mayonnaise; and Braised Brisket served on grilled onion petals, creme fraiche, and horseradish; Chocolate Terrine with coffee crumb and strawberry.

Wine: The wines tasted were all from the Don Manuel Villafane winery, and included: Torrontes "Classic" 2013, Malbec 2014, Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Malbec Reserve 2012, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2012, "Legado" Tres Uvas 2012, and "Legado" IV Siglas 2009.
