Dear Wine and Food Society Friends,

Welcome to summer in Houston, time for refreshing Rose’ and White wines. The venue for the June event is one we know well – Kris Bistro, located at 7070 Allensby, Houston 77022.  This event started out to be a tasting, but Chef Kris Jakob’s suggested pairings of signature dishes and wines proved to be more than enough for a meal.  He is providing hors d’oeuvres and bubbly for the reception along with three delicious and unique courses that will be followed by dessert.  We hope to share this unique experience with you on Saturday, June 13th, starting at 5:30 pm.  Attire is snappy casual.

We can guarantee the event is a true value, with eight different wines being poured (target of 3 oz. pours - except for the bubbly, of course).  Chef Kris has selected the four main wines from his cellar, with your hosts adding another four to show the variety of the various white grapes. There will be a mixture of French and US wines.  Due to limitations, we must target a total of only 50 people – please plan to have your check to Denise by no later than Monday, June 8th

Chef Kristopher Jakob, a Texas native, is an Executive Chef with almost 20 years of industry experience, starting as an unofficial chef in his frat house by popular demand. He received a certificate from the Ceria Culinary College in Brussels, Belgium, for training in baking, advanced sauces and sous vide. In addition, Chef Jakob also earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts and restaurant management from le Cordon Bleu. Chef Jakob earned his certification for Certified Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation at the young age of 29. He has gained his culinary experience from various family owned restaurants and Brinker owned corporations.

The cost for our event will be $105 for members and $135 for guests.  Please bear in mind that the compelling pricing is possible due to generosity of Chef Kris, his selection of unique wines not generally available, as well as use of some wines from our Tomball cellars.   Please refer to the attached menu and wine selection.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to this special evening of great friends, great food and great wine.

A Votre Sante,

Lisa White, Mike Donohoe, & Jim Storfer
