Wine Affairs of the Heart

When Dr. Madaiah Revana, a well know cardiologist in Houston, visited Napa Valley in 1997 he sensed the potential of a small parcel of prime vineyard land north of St. Helena. Long enamored with Bordeaux's first growths and the exceptional Cabernets of Napa Valley, he set forth in building a world class winery there, Revana Family Vineyards, followed later by a winery in Oregon, Alexana Winery, concentrating on Pinot Noirs and Pinot Gris. Last year, Dwelvin Simmons and Alisia Martin met Dr. Revana and convinced him to come to Jacksonville to share the fruits of his labors. This was an extraordinary opportunity to experience Revana wines along with another outstanding meal prepared by Matthew Medure.
