EVENT DESCRIPTION:

James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz has graced Miami with many fine restaurants over the past 12 years.  He has created incredible cuisine using local ingredients (farm to table before it became a cliché) when and where he can, whether it is for New American, Miami fresh, or simply pizza.  But one of his finest venues will be our next stop as we present an evening of Latin American delights while (to paraphrase Otis Redding) we’ll be “sittin’ (and sippin’) on the dock of the Bay”.  Amara at Paraiso Bay is set on a beautiful stretch of Biscayne Bay with views of the Miami Beach skyline and the Julia Tuttle causeway.  The menu features Michael’s homage to our Latin American backgrounds and surroundings, with subtle spice and fresh ingredients.  There will be delicacies from the sea and the land, some tapas and some classic mains. 

We will be quaffing two 2004 Argentinean Malbecs from different Catena Zapata vineyards for an interesting comparison, two older Garnacha blends from Priorat and a big Temperanillo.  They will have some age on them thanks to our great cellar.  Yes, except for the sparkling aperitif (a vintage Cava) , this will be a red wine night.

And because we will be al fresco enjoying the gorgeous bayfront breeze and views I will steal a title from Phil Collins: “No Jackets Required”.   This is a casual boy’s night out.

Members and stag Guests. Limited to 36. 

DRESS:

Casual, no jacket or tie. Wear medallion.

COST:

$125 per Member, $185 per stag Guest. Attendance limit is 36. Any wait listed Guests will start being confirmed on 10-2 space available.

DEADLINE:

Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 5:00 PM one week in advance for reservations or cancellations with refunds.

-No reservations or cancellations will be accepted after the deadline date.

-No-shows will be responsible for full payment, but attendance substitutions will be permitted.

-Payment must be made by check only.

-A $30 per person late fee will apply to payments not received by the event.

-Payment for items ordered outside the Event's Printed Menu will be the ordering member's responsibility.

-Ride services like Uber, Lyft, Taxis and designated drivers are recommended.
