INTIMATE FRENCH BISTRO

May is French Bistro Month in Montreal. The flowers are starting to bloom after a long cold winter. MonsieurB (B for Bistro) is an intimate French BYO offering market fresh Farm to Table cuisine. The Bistro is another creation of Marc-Andre Paradis and George Blais with whom we have shared wonderful evenings at Prince, Smoking Valley, LeMillen and others. Chef Sztuka was trained at these BYO restaurants as well as Pieds de Cochon. He is excited to be creating for us.  Foie Gras is a perfect seasonal dish estpecially considering the local duck population in and around the townships of Montreal.  The menu selected by Suzan Pridham and Marty Peletz was well selected. The wine selection by our Cellar Master Earl Eichenbaum was outstanding. 

To be an honest critic, the food was great, but a fire in the small bistro kitchen delayed service unfortunately for almost an hour. The good news is that the wines were so plentiful and  well selected and the comraderie so strong that the evening turned out well. The most positive critique is that members told us they would return to enjoy a great meal under "normal" kitchen circumstances.

Wine commentaries by Suzan and Mikey and Earl saved the service delays.
