The IWFS Montreal Branch tried something a little different this October. We partnered with the The Segal Centre for Performing Arts to create a catered early evening 5-7 followed by the Carole King Musical "Beautiful" from Broadway to Montreal. It was a Cinq a Sept of fine wines selected by Earl and dinner planned by Suzan Pridham and Marty Peletz with the catering arm of Petros Westmount headed by Chef's Theo and Tasso.
We arrived to the passing of great dips of fresh tzatziki, taramosalata and kopanisti with crisp warm Pita for dipping. This was followed by the passing of canapés of spanakopita, tiropita, dolmades, fava bean and mini Greek meatballs.
Sizan and Marty created a light and unique Mediteranean pre-theatre tasting menu. The main was a plated Dinatoire which included both fresh salmon and a delicious lamb chop with greek salad. Of course the finish had to be a great dessert bar containing the usual favorites of fruit, Greek yogurt w/cherry , baklava and galaktoboureko.
We had 40 members and guests enjoy this 5 a 7 and then upstairs to Theatre. There was ample for everyone to minge, meet and chat. What a great menu of classic Greek finger foods and a special selection of Fine Wines by Earl Eichenbaum. Then Curtain Call
Carole King BEAUTIFUL is light and fun and if you did not think you knew her music - her songs are everywhere and the audience finished the evening in great spirits. A most successful event.
ARRIVE: A trio of dips (tzatziki, taramosalata and kopanisti) with pita will be on all tables
5:00-5:30: Assorted canapés of spanakopita, tiropita, dolmades, fava bean and mini Greek meatballs will be circulated.

5:30-6:30: A Dinatoir plate will be served to each guest of a salmon filet, a lamb chop, Greek salad, a potato croquette and a zucchini galette. (no choices)
