Our next dinner will be hosted by the Bottle Boys, Ted and John. Their theme: an evening of exceptional indulgence. Jackets mandatory, and please wear medallions.
Ted, John and Chef Sam Horrocks have spent considerable time discussing the menu and wine pairings. And, while they are not final yet, here's what you can expect: passed Russian osetra caviar and 2014 Bollinger La Grande Annee'; New England lobster pie; poached Maine lobster with chilled rice noodles. These two courses will be paired with three of the finest Chardonnays: 2020 Peter Michael Belle Cote Chardonnay, 2018 Hyde Estate Chardonnay and 2019 Nid Tisse Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay. (For you that don't know Marie-Laure Ammons, she spent 18 years with Phillipe Melka. She now crafts exceptional whites from micro-blocks in the most sought-after vineyards. Super delicious, super small production. You'll try her 2019 Hyde Vineyard Chard which only yielded 161 cases. But........ we got it !)
The Peter Michael and the Hyde Estate, along with the 2014 La Grande Annee', are from our branch's cellar.
After the first two courses of lobster, and some of the worlds' finest Chardonnay, the "main event" will be a duo of beef with four different reds: seasoned, slow-smoked beef rib and open pit, charred ribeye cap. You'll enjoy four reds with this course, as you sit comfortably in first class and "travel". First, to Saint-Julien in Bordeaux for a 2003 Leoville Barton. You'll return home and travel to the top of Angwin, while traveling back in time, with a 2001 Dunn Howell Mountain Cab. Then, staying in Napa, you'll experience a visit with the Bryant Family on Pritchard Hill, 2004 DB4, before heading down the Silverado Trail and landing at Cliff Lede, where you will enjoy their 2009 Songbook.
Following dessert, you are invited to sit in the "living room" and enjoy an after dinner drink or more champagne.
This event is limited to members only until March 17th. In other words, we do not have room for guests at present. If you would like guests to attend, please email Kathy to check on availability, iwafspb@gmail.com .
You are asked to kindly take Uber or Lyft or arrange for car service for ALL branch events. Please do not drink and drive.
