Our February dinner featured Kistler Chardonnays and was planned by Branch President Dan Ovadia and his wife Anne, with special assistance from Bill Hein, who was responsible for slowly steaming the duck prior to final roasting. Several California Pinot Noir wines were contributed by members to compliment the succulent duck. The array of Kistler Chardonnays served with the early seafood courses, all prepared to perfection by Executive Chef Eric Widmer and his fine culinary staff, were from the cellars of Bill Hein and his daughter Melissa Gough. Kistler Vineyards is a small Sonoma County winery dedicated to the vinification of single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir using old-world Burgundian techniques.
