Our Valentine's French Wine Dinner was held at Matisse Restaurant in D.C. Matisse offers delecable French Mediterranean Cuisine. Dinner Chairman, Adam Roth and Wine Committee selected an outstanding wine from the Society's Cellar for this event.

Food: Passed hors d'oeuvres: Gougeres Tuna Tartare on wonton with avocado Chesapeake House smoked salmon potato pancake with crème fraiche

Course II

Food: First Course: Red wine and rosemary braised escargot

Wine: Castiglion del Bosco Brunello del Montalcino 2007* * from the cellar

Course III

Food: Second Course: Housemade gnocchi with fresh Chanterelle mushroom and duck ragout

Wine: Alain Corcia Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Macovilla Ultranium" 2007* * from the cellar.

Course IV

Food: Third Course: Colette d'Agneau - Roasted Australian rack of lamb, cipollini onions, potato gratin, Glace de Viande jus

Wine: Ch. Lynch Bages 1999* * from the cellar.

Course V

Food: Cheese Course followed by Dessert Course: Vanilla bean poached pear Bourdaloue with Creme Anglaise and raspberry coulis

Wine: Ch. Climens 1976 Barsac* * from the cellar.
