Contempoary Dining

Theme Contempoary Dining
Venue Soul Bar & Bistro
Location The Viaduct
Date Jun 22, 2018
Time 18:30pm

In 1993 when the Viaduct Basin development was completed, it presented Aucklanders with many new and varied options for dining in a new and vibrant area. Alfresco dining had finally come of age in Auckland. Many of the restaurants that opened then and shortly thereafter have come and gone; however one remains an icon in the area – Soul.

Opened in 2001, Soul has been helmed by Judith Tabron until last week, when the new owners, Nourish Group (Euro, Crab Shack etc) finally took over. Notwithstanding that, for our next function, we will be attending Soul for an exciting dinner with wines selected by our Branch Secretary, Rod Penna. This will be a perfect opportunity to see whether the new owners can match the standards set whilst under the control of Judith Tabron.

To start the evening we will be having pre-dinner drinks, champagne and canapés on board the 60ft luxury yacht Zefiro, which is moored in the Viaduct precinct behind the Maritime Museum.

We will meet in front of the Maritime Museum, right next to the J-Class Americas Cup boats and then proceeding to Zefiro.

This is an event that is a little different to the usual and one that should be one not to be missed. I look forward to seeing you on the night.
