Dinner with Prince Robert de Luxembourg

Theme Dinner with Prince Robert de Luxembourg
Venue Four Seasons, Bombay
Location 114 Dr. E. Moses Road, Worli, Mumbai India 400 018
Date Jan 27, 2013
Time 7.00pm

When a group of us from the branch visited him last year, Prince Robert de Luxembourg was a most gracious host, serving two 100-Paker Pointer Wines over lunch.  We had promised to support his endeavours on the Indian market whenever he chose to visit.  Although this event was not originally our event, the IWFS Bombay Branch has assumed responsibility for it now, so I do regret our lack of notice on this event.

Prince Robert de Luxembourg, of Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion is making his first visit to the country in his official capacity as the owner of these two great Chateaux and wines.

Haut-Brion which came into being in 1533, is classified as a First Growth along with only 4 other wines (Latour, Margaux, Lafite & Mouton) in the 1855 Classification and occupies a rarified space in the great wines of the world and history.

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, established in 1540, is classified a Graves Grand Cru Classe and is regarded, alongside Haut-Brion, as one of the 9 greatest wines of Bordeaux.

The Prince will present a selection of wines at an exclusive dinner at the Four Seasons, Bombay on Sunday, the 27th of January, 2013 at 7:00pm.  Please read the attachment for more details on the wines.  Chef Clinton Cooper will present 5 courses in conjunction with the legendary winemaker, Jean-Phillippe Delmas.

The dinner will be preceded by ‘Sannidhi’, a fabulous dance recital (which was performed at the NCPA) combining the 7 greatest Indian dance forms – Bharat Natyam, Odissi, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Manipuri & Mohiniattam – in one 30 min. performance to celebrate the 7 great wines being served and the 7 critical attributes that go into making the celebrated Clarence Dillon wines.  Aperitif service will conclude at 7:30pm sharp when we move to the dance recital.
