HUANGPU Branch 2nd Anniversary
On 21st April 2021, IWFS Huangpu (Shanghai) Branch successfully held the 2nd Anniversary of its official founding, under the starry night benefiting from the outstanding gastronomy in < Mr & Mrs Bund by Paul Pairet >. Mr Guillaume BROCHARD — one of the initial members was invited to join the event, sharing with everyone the fine wines from his own property - Chateau Ad Francos where the famous winemaker Michel ROLLAND spent most of his childhood.
Chateau Ad Francos White which enjoys a classic Bordeaux White blending goes perfectly with starters such as Fois gras Terrine Natural; Chateau Ad Francos Ad Aeternam Reserve (100% Merlot with 24 months new French oak barrel) becomes more expressive accompanied by Australian Wagyu Ribeye, not mentioning the St Emilion Grand Cru Classe Chateau Jean Faure and the 2nd wine of Chateau De Malle ( Sauternes ) afterwards. Fullfilled with happiness and satisfaction when the authentic Mousse au Chocolat MMB attacks your tongue!
2021年4月21日晚,在上海Mr & Mrs Bund餐厅,迎来了IWFS组织成立两周年庆,这也宣告着IWFS上海分会正式被英国总部确认通过了为期两年的试运营!值此两周年之际,初创成员Guillaume Brochard先生为晚宴奉上了由”飞行酿酒师”米歇尔•罗兰亲自操刀指导酿造的爱法帼城堡系列精品酒,该酒庄位于弗朗产区,自十九世纪初由罗兰家族掌管,目前为Guillaume Brochard先生所拥有。经典混酿配比的干白完美搭配法式鹅肝前菜,列级庄风范的爱法帼珍藏干红与澳洲和牛肋眼相得益彰,另有圣爱美浓列级庄享福城堡和苏岱产区玛乐城堡副牌贵腐助阵,MMB备受宠爱的巧克力慕斯入口即化的绵延感让人幸福满满。
A truly presidential dinner in Shanghai
IWFS SHA continued its “Grand View” dinner series on 23 September 2020 at another magnificent place and took its members behind the exclusive doors of the Portman Ritz Carlton Presidential Suite located at the 41st floor, overseeing the renowned Jing’an district. The professional banquet team transformed for that one and only evening the suite under a tight schedule into a breathtaking dinner location whereas Chef Fabio already started the fire in the kitchen to surprise the members and guests of IWFS with a culinary journey touching on delights from the ocean and land. Starting with pan roasted scallops and pan seared duck liver the travel lead to tongue melting main courses of lobster vialone as well as the 48 hours sous vide wagyu beef. For the closing the team tried an experiment and brought an artisan cheese selection to the Chinese and Western diners – with great appreciation from both groups. For the matching wines the SHA committee decided to come up with something special, involving its members and guests.
Following the annual tradition the dinner was held in the style of a La Paulee Party, focusing on bringing the flavors of Burgundy to the tables. The members and guests went great lengths to showcase red and white wines from that region. Famous wines were tasted like from the Premier Cru club for example Marsault 1er Cru or Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru. Burgundy has 585 premier cru vineyards in the Côte d'Or and Côte Chalonnaise. They represent 18% of Burgundy's total production. Beside Premier Cru also well- known Grand Crus were served like Chablis Grand Cru or Montrachet. There are 32 Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte d'Or. They represent less than 5% of total production, marking the highest level.
The dinner event was a fantastic experience with a special recognition deserved for the team of the Portman Ritz Carlton; the great hospitality was felt and enjoyed by the IWFS SHA members and guests.
