2006 Bordeaux Dinner

The 2006 vintage in Bordeaux was a bit of both excellent and poor wines. The weather was a mix of a hot July and rainy September with rot reported during the harvest.  Producers who selected well in their vineyards saw excellent wines being made.  Christian Seeley, in an interview with James Suckling in the Wine Spectator magazine has said that it is a wait and see year.  "I like the vintage, but I'm not ready yet to say what the quality level is. But there's a quiet confidence about 2006."

IWFS Singapore will gather on Wednesday 8 June for a tasting of 2006 Bordeaux at La Barca Ristorante. La Barca Ristorante, located at the Goodman Arts Centre off Mountbatten Road is helmed by Chef Michele Sorrentino who in 1999 received his 1 star from Michelin for his restaurant Antica Trattoria Botteganova.  

The menu which will include his famed Steak Fiorentina is still being finalised.
