It’s hard to imagine a more fitting venue for our annual headline dinner, in honour of our founder André Simon, than Scott Pickett’s newest project – ESP. Four years after opening the Estelle, Scott Pickett has garnered a reputation as the ‘go to’ chef for serious dining. Plating up technique-driven tasting menus, the Estelle has proven a poster-child for the northern food movement and has been recognised with a coveted Chef’s Hat.
An urge to change now sees this much-loved fine dining restaurant evolved. The result is Estelle by Scott Pickett (ESP), a high end dining experience located next door to the original restaurant, where the fit-out, the menu and the service have all been designed to create a very indulgent experience. For this special event, Scott has generously agreed to close the venue to other guests so that they can concentrate totally on spoiling us. Treating us to a tasting menu drawing on influences from his entire career, we expect a menu that celebrates the best the city has to offer, handled with craftsmanship and respect.
Of course, it’s the André Simon dinner, so it’s your chance to roll out the black tie and indulge in some truly special wines - selected only from IWFS “Seven” rated vintages. As we approach 2016 and the 80th anniversary of the International Wine and Food Society, this event marks the beginning of a year of commemoration where we celebrate the people and places that have contributed to our shared enjoyment of wine, food, and unique experiences that have brought us together.
