Dear IWFS Victoria Members,

2018 Weekend Get-Away:  Friday June 15 – Sunday June 17

A mere 60 minutes' drive from Melbourne, this year’s ‘Get-Away Weekend’ takes us on an epicurean adventure to the sensational Bellarine Peninsula.  Here, we’ll combine visits to some of the country’s finest restaurants, wineries and hidden coastal gems that make the Bellarine such an exciting gourmet destination.

Highlights include:

  • Optional Thursday evening dinner at Igni, one of Australia’s best restaurants, delivering upscale and contemporary dining at its finest;
  • Friday evening dinner at Merne at Lighthouse, where chef Josh Smith sets the tone for our weekend with a relaxed but contemporary opening night dinner;
  • Saturday morning Bellarine taste trail, with special access to Scotchman’s Hill, followed by a hamper lunch, allowing you to explore local farmgate producers and local providores at your own leisure;
  • Saturday night dinner at Captain Moonlight, one of Victoria’s most exciting new restaurants. As the highlight of the weekend, celebrated chef Matt Germanchis (formerly of Pei Modern), will create a culinary experience to perfectly match a range of old world wine treasures;
  • Sunday morning tutored wine tasting followed by a gorgeous winter luncheon at Austin’s, 2016 winner of Gourmet Traveller’s best ‘cellar door experience’;
  • Accommodation at the stunning RACV Club Torquay.

Our getaways are legendary for combing the best of what of what our branch offers, wonderful food, exceptional wines and great camaraderie. As the get-away is limited to 20 people please book early to avoid missing out.
