Dear Members,

For our second function of the year on May 16th, we are very excited to take you to Shannon Bennet’s latest creation the very stylish and innovative, Iki-Jime.

You may be wondering why Shannon is opening a Japanese restaurant? Well Iki-Jime is not Japanese, it is a seafood restaurant named after an innovative Japanese technique that ensures the best tasting seafood, housed in the newly renovated premises that for 11 years was Bistro Vue. Shannon’s seafood vision, which intentionally departs from the well warn traditional approach to seafood for something newer and more innovative, has already won effusive praise from the reviewers at Gourmet Traveller and Good Food Guide. Thanks to function organisers Rachel Wellam and Chloe Joel, you have the unique opportunity to explore and critique Shannon’s vision via a menu dedicated to the wonders of the sea perfectly matched with some stunning mostly old world white wines.

Iki-Jime follows hot on the heels of an extremely successful Members Cook-Up luncheon, in which our talented member chefs produced a menu that was the perfect companion to some delicious wines. The feedback from the function has been terrific and we are truly indebted to the Peddey family for opening up their wonderful home and garden for this special event. Attached is the menu from the function for those interested in seeing the full list of food and wines that we featured.

Please see the invitation for further information.

Please reply by email as soon as possible if you wish to attend Iki-Jime.

Warm regards

Yvonne
