The Pentathlon is a five part Olympic event that was held all on one day in Ancient Greece. This required great stamina from the contestants.

For our London Branch Pentathlon we are going back to the original concept of the whole event on one day and featuring a five course Olympian lunch. You won’t need great stamina for this – just a healthy appetite!!

Many of you will have attended one of Alan and Stephanie’s Savoie lunches, or maybe one of the ‘tastings with food’ that they have organised for Capital and Surrey Hills Branches. But this time they will be entering into the Olympic spirit and assuming a more international flavour. So while the Olympics are in full swing, how about travelling in the opposite direction to everyone else, avoiding the crush and joining them for The Pentathlon: a five course extravaganza of food and wine.

After kicking off with a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne, they will be offering a five course menu, provisionally as follows:

Pea soup with raspberries

Gravallax

Venison

Stilton Mousse

Pavlova

This will be accompanied by appropriate red and white wines and a dessert wine from the Savoie.
