2018 Nik Weis Urbans-hof Wiltinger Alte Reben

Produced from vines over 140 years old, this Riesling from the Mosel, Germany, is light, fruity and offers a fascinating spiciness which comes from the amount of iron oxide in the soils where it is grown.  The Nik Weis vineyards in the Mosel are actually the oldest in the region with a few of their vineyards even having survived the phylloxera-crisis in the early 20th Century.  A superb quality wine.

2005 Lynch Bages

From Pauillac in Bordeaux, Lynch Bages has long been a favourite amongst lovers of outstanding wines.  James Suckling described this wine as “A meaty and decadent Lynch with very ripe currant aromas” and whilst drinking wonderfully well now, it will still have a lot of life left it in yet!  From the very excellent 2005 vintage, this wine has now had almost 18 years developing in the bottle and is sure to impress!

2005 Chateau Lagrange

Another excellent 2005 offering, this time from St Julien in Bordeaux.  This wine often presents aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry with spicy, smoky notes. Aromas of cedar, liquorice or tobacco also develop over the years, typical of the top Saint-Julien wines.  This wine will be powerful, lively and will make an excellent side-by-side pairing.
