27 members participated this very memorable event.   V Mertz is owned by our member, David Hayes.   It has a reputation for being one of Omaha’s finest dining establishments, for good reason.  This event was exemplary of all the fine standards of the IWFS.  The event chairs and the V Mertz staff out-did themselves to perfection.   The commentary thoughout the evening about the wine-food pairings added to the experience, and highlighted the fact that  (although our members are not novices),  there is always more to know about wine and food.   The portions were perfectly sized, and beautifully presented.   This was an event which will be hard to equal and impossible to excel.  Our current president, Burton Jay was awarded the Silver Medal for his continuous dedication to the branch for 12 years as a charter member, treasurer, and now president.   The 10th anniversary of our permanent charter is June 1, 2015.
