A NIGHT IN ITALY
Mama Mia! What a Night it was as Chef Jerry Moran treated us to a famiy style Italian meal. A culinary fixture in Jacksonville, there is no doubt he is passionate about his food. We started our evening with passed hors d'oeuvre and a delicious Prosecco. We were told to hold onto the glass because we would be carrying that Prosecco thru the 1st pasta course. No one complained! When we were seated for the Antipasto, no one anticipated that there would be no less that 12 plates passed family style. That alone was a meal in itself. Soon followed the best Linguine in White Clam Sauce that I have ever tasted and then Trenette Cornelia. And true to Italian family form, the entree of 5 meats and fish were passed, again family style. A delicious Giandjua Cake and Hazelnut Semifreddo topped it off. Yes, Chef Jerry Moran outdid himself.
For the occasion, dinner Chair and local artist, Diantha York Ripley hung many of her Italian themed paintings in the restaurant.
