Bastille Day, celebrated on July 14th, is the French National Day and commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, a significant event during the French Revolution.
In France and around the world, people celebrate this day with various events, including traditional luncheons. For the past decade members of the LW&FS celebrate this day at Chez Michel Malécot in San Diego, CA. Chef Malécot prepares traditional French cuisine, French-inspired dishes and delicacies, and as always these were outstanding. This year’s La Paulée event featured wines selected by our members and a featured 1992 Chateau Margaux, Jeroboam. The event was gladly shared with members of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, USA.
