IW&FS Lake Tahoe branch's best events take place on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The All American Barbeque at Nora and Mike Lacey's home was everything you would expect it to be. The perfect weather with the most beautiful setting on the beach of Lake Tahoe set up an evening of friends enjoying incredible wines picked by Sudsy from the Cellar with three outstanding passed hor d' oeuvres. Pimento Cheese Mini Sammies -Deviled Eggs, Assorted Toppings -Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Bloody Mary Granita, Cured Lemon paired with a 2019 Ferrari Carano Chardonnay and a 2019 Chalk Hill Chardonnay Sonoma Coast. Chef Colin Smith's All American BBQ Buffet started with Grilled Romaine, Crispy Black Eyed Peas, Giant Cornbread Croutons, Pickled Red Onions, Dill Shallot Ranch Dressing and Tear Drop Tomatoes. Entrées included Barbeque Pork Tenderloin smothered in Grilled Peaches, Pistachios, Yuzu BBQ Sauce -Barbequed Verlasso Salmon in a Chipotle Blueberry Glaze, Squash Blossoms, Corn & Potato Succotash, with Green Garbanzo Beans, Hatch Chili Mac & Cheese, Campanelle, Fontina Cheese with a Toasted Molasses Crunch. The evening's special dessert was an American Flag Cake Jar, with Strawberries and Blueberry Chantilly. Members and guests had the opportunity to taste 2018 Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Col Solare Cabernet Sauvignon Washington, 2016 Sinegal Cabernet Sauvignon Napa and a 2017 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles.
