We were delighted to present this spectacular weekend of wine and food. The Friday night experience occurred in Los Angeles at the prestigious private California Club, founded in 1887. The evening began with a tour of their superb Art collection. Afterward, we kicked off the Bordeaux/DRC weekend with a lavish dinner featuring terrific older vintage Bordeaux.

The next day featured the Michelin Star restaurant Citrin in Santa Monica. This event was a magical outdoor dining experience in perfect Southern California weather, under dimly glistening lights featuring the exquisite wines of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – Romanée St-Vivant and Grands Échézeaux. Citrin created a fabulous evening of wine and perfectly executed dishes.

The events took on a special significance – July 1st represented the 47th anniversary of the Marin Branch. As I move into my 27th year of Chairmanship, keeping our founders, Dr. Haskell and Mrs. Rae Norman's vision alive is an honor. What they created mirrors the highest standards of the IWFS; what remains is enormous gratitude.

Hat's off to Dr. Ananth Natarajan for arranging the California Club venue and member Steve Rogers for his generous donation of the superb Domaine de La Romanée-Conti 2003 Romanée-St. Vivant.
