The Montréal Branch holds events from September to June, with an additional event in August that is usally outside of Montreal. While all events focus on wine and food (and friendship) the format of the events will vary greatly. Meals are always multi course and each plate is accompanied by a selected wine. Members take turns at meetings commenting on the wine and food pairings. Please see the Documents page for the event invites and menus.

Our Montreal Branch started 2025 with another special evening at the recently opened LaSpada with a Sold Out seating.

The Owners Photo Artist Scott Usheroff and Chef Steve Marcone created LaSpada as their love letter to Roman cuisine. La Spada  offers a warm and vibrant dining experience. It has become a hotspot after hours for the Millenial crowd. But they let us IWFS members take over the party section :) We enjoyed classic Roman dishes made with the finest local ingredients and music by Sinatra and period Jazz.

The wine list includes private imports from small cuvées situated in Rome, Puglia, and Etna regions via the import agency Grappoli Wines. “La Spada doesn’t reinvent the wheel—but why bother when the classics are so delicious? - Salute!” (from Tastet, Montreal)

From the House baked Foccaccia with Prosecco to the Branzino and home made Panna Cota - what a wonderful evening was enjoyed with members sitting and chatting long after the service stopped.
