The Norfolk Chapter of the International Wine & Food Society held their spring event at the Norfolk Country Club. Chef Jason delighted the members with an Australian themed "Barbie in the Outback." On arrival, members were greeted with a choice of a Dark & Stormy cocktail or a Foster's Australian lager. Although the boomerang throwing contest was unexpectedly cancelled, our chef proceeded to serve an enticing four-course dining experience. Each course was proceeded with a lively discussion of the wines and the Australian dishes, and included many renditions of Australian trivia. For example, In 1967, Prime Minister Harold Holt went swimming at the Cheviot Beach. Upon entering the water, he was never seen again. This event is now known as "the swim that need no towel."
