When I first joined the IWFS I was intimidated by the complexity of wine, mostly because I didn't know how to talk about it. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find a group of people who loved wine but weren't pretentious about it in this group. Learning about wine and enjoying great food and wine pairings is what this club is all about - and we have a lot of fun while we're at it!
But the more I've learned about wine, and the more people I meet who are interested about wine, the more I realize that most people are a bit uncomfortable when it comes to talking about it and knowing how to describe what their tasting. So what better way to host an event than go to one of Omaha's premier restaurants, The Grey Plume, and combine that with some education around how to describe the wines that we're drinking!
I hope you can join us as we enjoy a four-course meal prepared by James Beard nominated Chef Clayton Chapman, along with side-by side pairings for each course where we'll learn how to talk about the wines we're tasting using the attached chart as a reference. I hope to see you there!
