This event is truly going to be one of a kind! In addition to an exquisite menu curated by Chef John Benker to pair perfectly with each course, we'll be learning firsthand how wine evolves with age as we compare two of the exact same wines from vintages that are separated by at least a decade.
For each course we'll be comparing an older vintage side-by-side with a more recent vintage of the same wine in order to understand the effects of bottle aging. It is very rare in the CB Branch that we have the opportunity to try wines with this much age, and between pulling wines from my personal cellar and working closely with wineries to source library wines, we'll enjoy a truly unique learning experience at this event.
Due to the fact that the Huskers will be playing an away game at Minnesota that is not yet scheduled, the start time for this dinner will be TBD. As soon as the game time is announced, you'll receive an email with a specific start time, but here is what you can expect:
1. If it's a morning game we'll have dinner at a normal start time around 6pm.
2. It's an afternoon game, we'll start the dinner a little later, around 7pm depending on the exact game time. In this case we will likely offer an optional Husker football party at our office (at least for the second half) for those who are interested.
3. If it's a night game, we'll have the dinner around 4:30pm in order to be finished around the time that the game starts. In that case, we will likely have an optional "after party" for those who are interested in staying to watch the game.
Once a game time is set, I will provide more specific details about the potential football parties, but I'll provide snacks and a cooler of beer, and anyone who joins is encouraged to bring their preferred beverage or bottle of wine to share.
