Probably the two best areas for Pinot Noir in California are The Russian River Valley and The Sonoma Coast. Pinot afficianados have long regarded the Russian River Valley as the piece de resistance of Pinot Noir, but now connoisseurs are beginning to find the Sonoma Coast Pinots more exotic. You can make up your own mind on which one you prefer. All the quaffing wines are from our two AVAs. We will have a blind tasting to start out the meal so you can experience the wines without prejudice. There will be two red wines to compare on the dinner main courses.
Even if Pinot Noir is not your favorite cup of juice, Chef John Benton has prepared a faboulous meal for you. Just the Crab Bomb appetizers alone are worth the price of admission. This will be a very educational event to learn about Pinot Noir from two areas that are not that far apart but have distinctive traits.
