Celebrate Bastille Day: Left Bank vs. Right Bank

We all know in Bordeaux, France, all red wines are red blends with some combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.  Then, there is the question of whether you prefer, Right Bank Merlot-driven red blends, OR do you prefer Left Bank Cabernet Sauvignon-driven blends?  For this event, we've decided to bring the debate to the U.S. to see whether you prefer a Left Bank or Right Bank Napa Red Blend.

We are excited to be hosting this event at Fleming's where Chef Rafael has put together a spectacular menu that balances contemporary and traditional.  We will start the evening by tasting four wines.  We will train our palates on the taste profiles of a Napa Merlot and then a Napa Cabernet .  We will then follow that by a blind tasting of two different vintages of Shafer's TD-9, with one vintage being more Cab heavy and Left Bank styled and the other being a more Merlot heavy and Right Bank style to see who can tell the difference.
