Come try the New Sand Point restaurant for a New England inspired dinner with wine tastings that will take place throughout the entire meal. The wines selected for this event come from extremely high-quality producers and the wines alone are valued at around $150 per person.
We'll start with a tasting of Sparkling wines with Charcuterie and Deviled Eggs for quaffing, and then will move into a Chardonnay tasting to enjoy with the first two courses. The Chardonnay tasting will allow us to see the differences between three New World wines from the Sonoma Coast, Santa Rita Hills (Central Coast near Santa Barbara) and Margaret River in Western Australia. The tasting will take place with two classic food parings for Chardonnay, a New England Clam Chowder and a Maine Lobster Roll.
The main course will include a rare tasting where we can compare 4 different vintages of the same wine. We'll enjoy the Keenan Mailbox Vineyard Reserve Merlot from the Spring Mountain District in Napa Valley and will see the impacts of bottle aging as we try their current release 2019, and wines that are 4-5 years apart going all the way back to 2006. This will be an educational experience to determine your ideal preferences when it comes to bottle aging your wine.
We'll end the meal with a rarely seen Beerenauslese wine from Austria to expand our knowledge of dessert wines and enjoy something sweet, but lighter in style than the Sauternes that we commonly drink during dessert courses at IWFS events.
We hope you can join us!
