Would you believe it…our 5th Anniversary is upon us. As I reminisce the Vinous, Gourmandised times we’ve had, I also think of all the exciting events we’ve planned for the next year. More about that in a subsequent note.
For now, we have a fabulous event planned for our Anniversary on Saturday, 20th August, 2011 at Tote, Mahalaxmi. At our President’s Dinner at which Rahul Akerkar and his Chef Nitin personally prepared all the dishes, he informed us of a super new development. At Tote on the Turf, Rahul has brought in a young, very enthusiastic and creative Indian Chef to let loose his creative juices under Rahul’s watchful eye. So while the Indian cuisine will be creative, it will not deviate from the authentic and will be contemporary in presentation and plating. And the restaurant is bringing rechristened “Neel”.
In keeping with our tradition, we will have a range of wines from the year past and have selected just the range to pair with the Indian kitchen. Some of the top Riesling producers from our “King of Whites” event will be set against a range of juicy Merlot driven wines from our “Clash of the Super Tuscans” event. We will also have an interesting format in the service, in that, each course will be served with a Riesling and Merlot to discover what element in each wine works for us individually and as a group.
The dinner will take place at 7.30pm in the main dining room which has been blocked for the event and which has a capacity restriction of 42 pax, so members are advised to reserve soonest. Reservations will open for guests from 2nd August, 2011.
