We are really excited about our upcoming Celebration Dinner after the Summer break & have already received lots of interest!
We will be hosting our dinner at the most-talked about venue in town, “Tai Kwun”. The old Central Police Station Compound, Magistracy & Prison, dating from the 1860s, have been restored and, with the addition of 2 buildings by award-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, are a unique Centre for Heritage & Arts. Arguably the crown jewel of Tai Kwun’s restaurants, the exquisite 8,000 square foot “Madame Fu” Grand Café Chinois creates the ambience of a bygone era. In this beautifully restored Edwardian building, Madame Fu elegantly combines Hong Kong’s colonial past & Cantonese heritage with contemporary flavors, art & furnishings. IWFS believes that Madame Fu reflects Hong Kong today – a city, proud of its past, that celebrating the best of the world’s modern influences.
Madame Fu is an ideal venue in which to celebrate the merger of the two Hong Kong Chapters of the IWFS – the HK Pearl Branch & the HK Island Branch – which will simply become the “Hong Kong Branch”.
