IWFS KL branch held their annual President's dinner at Sage Restaurant in Kaula Lumpur raising an amazing RM190,000.00 for charity.

IWFS KUALA LUMPUR SMASHES FUND RAISING RECORD

Generous IWFS KL members and guests raised over RM190,000.00 for charity at the President's Dinner held at the Sage Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur in December 2014. 

The President's Dinner is an annual black tie affair where IWFS KL members enjoy a wonderful wine dinner and are encouraged to bid for wines donated by members and suppliers for the event. All funds raised are channeled to charities in the Kuala Lumpur area designated as worthy of support by the IWFS KL Committee. 

The Charities being supported for this year are the Special Children Society of Ampang (SCSOA) and the Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped Selangor & Federal Territory (SSMH).

The previous record was RM149,612.00 raised at the 2011 dinner. 

IWFS KL President Dr Rajan Karunakaran and the entire committee were overwhelmed by the response. "It was clear from the first bid that the record was going to be shattered - everyone was so in the mood to bid for the wines,” said IWFS KL Secretary Wong Yin-How. 

Auctioneers for the night were Dr Stephen Hall and Brian McIntyre who proved hugely entertaining in their styles of inviting bids for the auction lots. 

A big "Well Done" and thank you for the generous support from IWFS KL members and friends!
