IWFS KL Recognised for Charity Donations
IWFS Kuala Lumpur was recently recognised for its charitable work.
The Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped Selangor (SSMH) held an appreciation lunch at which Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to supporters of the charity. In her welcome address, SSMH President Puan Fadillah Mohd Yakin thanked everyone for their contributions.
The SSMH operates a day centre with state of the art facilities for young people with varying degrees of disabilities. Trained staff seek to stimulate their young charges and move them toward greater independence in movement and awareness.
The branch holds a bottle auction at the President's Dinner every December to raise monies for distribution to designated causes. Last year, the KL Branch raised RM190,000.
IWFS KL Past President Dato' Jeremy Diamond received the Certificate on behalf of the branch.
