It has always been the Board's intention to expand its repertoire of dining experiences of our members to other fine cuisines - an Australian wine and food dinner being one of them. Tasting Australia, a yearly Australian wine and food festival organized in cooperation with the Australian Embassy to coincide with the celebration of Australia Day (January 26), could not have come at a more opportune time.
This year, the Peninsula has brought in Greg Doyle of Sydney’s The Sailors Club - one of Australia’s most talented chefs – who was awarded the plum prize of "Restaurateur of the Year" and who won the prestigious Three-Hat award by The Sydney Morning Herald "Good Food Guide". Joining him is his talented Executive Chef Steven Skelly and Executive Pastry Chef Nic Waring.
There are 2 menus: An ala-carte menu with a two-tier pricing - P2,900++ for food only and P4,600++ for food with wine pairing; and a Degustation menu which Chef Samuel Linder recommended for us at a price of P2,950++. We can bring our own Australian wines corkage-free.
