Dear Fellow Members,
We start the year with a function made possible by the very generous donation of Michael Tamburri of 2 bottles of Penfolds Grange 1982. This dinner will highlight some of the top wines from Penfolds: The Bin 144 Yattarna Chardonnay or the so-called White Grange, The Bin 389 Baby or Poor Man's Grange, the St. Henri Shiraz, which was once considered equal in stature to Grange, and, of course, the 1982 Grange.
This will also be an opportunity for us to compare the same wine bottled in screwcap and in cork. I was fortunate enough to acquire the 2005 Bin 389 in both screwcap and cork. They were purchased at the same time and have been stored in the same cav since purchase. 18 years after the vintage, we can see how the two have evolved.
An appropriate venue for this dinner is Chef Wade Watson's Bondi and Bourke in Legazpi Village which is a bastion of fine Australian cooking.
Due to the limited amount of Grange we have available, we will strictly limit this to 16 pax.

Deadline: Reservations and cancellations should be in by 12 Noon, Monday, February 6, 2023. Reservations made and not cancelled by the deadline must be paid.

If we do not get the minimum of 12 pax by the deadline, this function will be cancelled and a notice to that effect will be sent.
