March 13, 2012
Theme Saigon AGM Dinner
Venue Le Bordeaux
Location 72-D2 Street Van Thanh Bac, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Date Mar 13, 2012
Time 6.30pm

The AGM in Saigon Chapter was an exceptional. The dinner took place at a restaurant called Le Bordeaux where even a French Michelin 3-star chef cooked a few days before our dinner. The synopsis of dinner is as follows.

After the meeting, we started with chilled Veuve Clicquot Champagne with homemade Foie Gras Canapes.

We then started the dinner with a ‘Crab Tartar & Artichoke Consommé’. It went with Aile d'Argent de Château Mouton Rothschild 2006 from our cellar. It was beautiful as usual but sadly we finished all our Aile d’ Argent in our cellar. Recalling the other time we enjoyed Aile d’ Argent was on the boat to a restaurant called The Deck in September 2011.

Then we had Chateauneuf du pape blanc 2009 with ‘Scallops & Crayfish fricassée’. Chateuneuf du pape white is only a few percent of the total production of Chateuneuf du pape. We enjoyed quite rare wine from our cellar.

Ch Gruaud-Larose 2001 was matched with the ‘Beef Tournedos Rossini’ which is very well prepared. Ch Gruaud-Larose from our cellar was ready to drink. It was very well structured and balanced. Very seductive but we had limited number of bottles !!

We had two dessert plates matched with the desert wine to finish the lovely night.
