Congratulations to our new IWFS Seoul Branch in South Korea, led by President Jinhwan Jung, formed on September 20 2011. The branch held its inaugural dinner at the French restaurant ‘July’ on November 26 2011.
The inaugural dinner included a feast of blue fin tuna, foie gras two ways, Han-Woo Tenderloin (A++Grade) and tagine of Australian lamb shoulder, complemented by red and white Burgundy from Domaine Jayer-Gilles and Domaine Pavelot.
Founding President Jinhwan Jung met APZ Vice-President Andrew Fegent earlier in 2011 whilst cycling in Bordeaux. Jinhwan was excited about the idea of belonging to an international group focussing on the intellectual enjoyment of wine and food and sharing camaraderie around the world. Soon after, Jinhwan reported that he had gathered a group of like-minded people who were keen to form a branch.
Seoul received its Provisional Charter at the AGM Weekend in Singapore in November. Welcome aboard Seoul!!
