Happy New Year to all!
We kicked off 2019 with a tasting of 2004 Bordeaux. This included :
- 2004 Chateau Palmer
- 2004 Bahans Haut Brion
- 2004 La Mission Haut Brion
- 2004 Les Forts de Latour
- 2004 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux
- 2004 Vieux Chateau Certan
“2004 is a cool, classic and precise vintage for those properties that monitored the vineyards, green harvested and removed foliage to allow sunshine to ripen the grapes. Some properties that picked the Cabernets during September did not get full maturity from the grapes, however those like Gruaud-Larose who waited to maximize contact with the sun and picked in October produced ripe Cabernets.” – Berry Brothers
Members enjoyed the tasting and felt all were showing so well. The favourite for the night was the Les Forts de Latour. The heavy weights needed more cellar time.
