For our May dinner we are taking you to Pei Modern, the newly opened restaurant by Mark Best, celebrated 3 hat Sydney chef and owner of Marque, possibly Australia's finest restaurant. Those that have had the privilege of eating at Marque in Sydney will know that Mark’s reputation for world-class, innovative and beautifully presented food is richly deserved.
For his first venture south Mark has chosen a slightly different focus. At Pei Modern, the food continues to be produce-driven, modern and stylish but more relaxed and bistro-esque than Marque. In this respect it is a perfect match with the modern architectural style of I.M. Pei, the world renowned architect after whom the restaurant is named.
Looking after us on the night will be some of Melbourne’s best front of house and kitchen staff. To make this night even more special the kitchen will be cooking exclusively for us.
Function organisers Erik Lehnacker and Graeme Edwards have selected some wonderful wines to showcase each of the dishes.
