Richard Duncan and Andrew Brodie, both being great fans of California Zinfandel, have decided to offer members a tasting of some superior wines taken from their respective cellars, followed by a formal dinner.

James Cattle, new chef of the Naval club, has joined with our enthusiasm, and is constructing a matching menu, and a splendid evening is forecast.

We have collected a superb range of these fine wines including some rare examples.
There will of course be some reserves in case any bottle is past it.

We will be tasting:-

Joseph Phelps '78,
Mayacamas '88,
Rosenblum '97,
Ravenswood Lodi old vine '02.

A three course meal and cheese will then be served after the tasting, when we will drink :-

Robert Biale Aldo's Vinyard Napa '98,
Karly Sadie Upton Amador '02,

Ravenswood Chauvet Vineyard Sonoma '06,
Ridge Geyserville Sonoma '10.

And if he can be persuaded, Andrew will pour from his Magnum of Mayacamas Late Harvest 76 with the cheese course.

We are honoured to be able to offer an important tasting of pre-1990 Clarets resurrected from their hiding place in the cellars of member Ian Rushton.

He has been most generous and we are able to taste these wines at a very modest cost.

Theme Miss C E Laneous Wines from Mr Davenport-Jones' Cellar.
Venue members' home
Location 326 South Lambeth Road, SW8 1UQ
Date Jul 28, 2014
Time 7:00 pm

Chris has generously offered us his house for the event to keep costs at a very reasonable level, for one of his renowned special tastings.

It will be a tasting of miscellaneous Clarets to include wines from 1950 through to 1982 with a few unknowns.

These wines came from an interesting source so Chris purchased them with this and another tasting in mind for our members.

The tasting will be held at the speakers' house in an informal way, designed to get members to discuss the wines on show, to enhance our enjoyment and education!

To be tasted are:-

Ch Haut Barde, la Conseillant, la Croix, Troplong Mondot and several lesser
known chateaux.

The wines will be accompanied by simple nibbles rather than a proper supper.
