A TASTE OF INDIA
Swadesh Restaurant 16th June 2016
Members were warmly greeted by Syful at the Swadesh restaurant in leafy Bowdon and promptly served a glass of Prosecco Emotivo Italy which was very welcome.Glasses were regularly topped up which led to a very convivial atmosphere.
In the restaurant we were seated at two long tables which worked well.The starter was a combination of marinated salmon,chicken tikka,onion bhaji and lamb cutlets served with salad garnish,the chicken was succulent and delicious,the salmon perfectly seasoned.
The main course was a selection of dishes comprising of chicken,lamb,prawns and vegetables.
The prawn dish was particularly popular being cooked with coriander and black pepper and cooked to perfection.The Tandoori grilled chicken was delicious in a creamy fresh tomato sauce with ginger and garlic.Masala Gothi,a stir fried cauliflower dish with secret spices was delicate and very tasty.All these were served with steamed rice and home made naan bread.
The wines served throughout the meal were Jarrah Wood Shiraz Cabernet,Australia and Jarrah Wood Semillon Chardonnay Australia,also Cobra beer was available for those who wished.Tea and coffee concluded the meal.
I feel it was a very successful evening enjoyed by all.Thank you to the organisers Ron Cowley and Ronnie Costello and also to Syful,Sujon and all the staff at Swadesh Bowdon.
