An evening of eclectic food and wine pairings. Chef Aaron has created an exciting menu of diverse dishes to accompany a selection of wines from both our cellar and theirs.

We will begin the evening with a refreshing Rosé to accompany Hors d’oeuvres.  The following three courses are paired with two Spanish white wines served side by side, Algareiro: Albarino 2011 and Bodegas Rafael Palacios: Louro do Bolo Godello 2009.  They are two quite different wines from the Galicia region of north western Spain.

Cheval de Andes 2002 will be served with the short rib course.  Probably the best mature wine produced by the joint venture between Cheval Blanc and Tarrazas de los Andes, this Argentinean wine is a blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% malbec.

We finish the evening with tawny Port to accompany the Fondue.

An out of the ordinary twist to the tasting is the addition of a Belgian beer to be served throughout the evening.  Affligem Brewery in the Flemish village of Opwijk is best known as the maker of the abbey beer Affligem.  While the production line has been modernized, this top-fermenting beer is still brewed according to the original recipe, respecting its authenticity and traditional craftsmanship.  We discovered that it went well with many of the dishes and look forward to your thoughts.  You be the judge!

Various courses will be served family style, as we’ve designed the evening to be a casual and interesting adventure for all.  Guests are welcome to attend.
