October Events

October 21, 2016
Theme A Return to France
Venue The Bistro
Location West Bay Road
Date Oct 21, 2016
Time 6.30

October brings thoughts of harvest time in France and is the perfect time to enjoy the special culinary treats offered by The Bistro for our IWFS French Inspired Dinner. Fresh Maine lobsters are being flown in to make the warm lobster salad and the rarely offered in Cayman braised rabbit as a main course option will be paired with special wines from our cellar.

Pol Roger's Pinot Noir dominated special cuvée is made only in the best vintages.  Famously Churchill's favorite champagne, Pol Roger created  the Churchill cuvée with the 1975 vintage and only releases the wine as it approaches maturity.

2005 was an exceptional year for red Burgundy and Domaine Robert Chevillon consistently produces a wonderful Nuits St. George which we will pair with the Foie Gras Torchon brought back after its popularity at last year's French dinner.

The Premier Cru Folatieres 2007 is a classically styled Puligny with a clean taste and bone dry finish.

The Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 1986 is a very typical St. Julian with black fruit and graphite tastes and will pair beautifully with the richly sauced lamb and rabbit.  It is a classic claret from the old school.

The Medoc Chateau Potensac 2000 is quite robust and will pair well with the cheese course.

Early reservations are recommended as this event is sure to sell out quickly.
