Almost exactly 45 years after the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976, we are going to create our own version of Steven Spurrier's iconic Judgment of Paris: The Judgment of Cayman.

IWFS Cayman member Simon Bee will conduct a blind tasting of 8 wines, 4 red and 4 white, with 4 from France and the other 4 from America.  Following a summary of the Judgment of Paris, there will be a short presentation on techniques for the assessment of wine and then the participants will take on the roles of the judges and rate the wines using score-cards.  The end result will be the ruling of the Cayman Islands in the perennial debate of France vs. America and Old World vs. New World!

Agua have kindly agreed a discount of 15% (applicable to the total bill including alcohol) for any of our members wishing to stay for dinner after the tasting.

Places are strictly limited to 16 people on each night: 2 September or 9 September

We are pleased to bring you a food-focused event hosted by Steak Social showcasing some different types of meat side by side.

Since opening a couple of years ago, Steak Social has established a reputation for excellent steaks. Steak can have quite different tastes and textures depending on the cut, how the cattle were fed, and how and how long the beef was aged. Chef-Owner Jonathan Rivard has designed us a tasting menu to show case the differing styles.

Portions will be tasting size and each course will be served with one of the restaurants sides (truffle fries, mixed mushrooms with garlic butter & onions, buttery mashed potato).

Chef will talk about each course and explain what gives each piece of meat its distinct taste and texture.

Although each style has a chef recommended preparation on the rare to medium rare scale, please let us know if you prefer meat well done and we will accommodate.
