October Events

October 20, 2011
Theme Homely French Bistro Food
Venue Vamps Bistro Restaurant
Location 227 Glenmore Road Paddington (At Five Ways), Paddington, NSW
Date Oct 20, 2011
Time 7.30pm

Established in 1983 by Tony and Veronique and still operated by them to this day, Vamps BYO Bistro is situated in the heart of Paddington Sydney at The Five Ways in a Victorian terrace, with an atmosphere of warmth and coziness.

A delightful garden courtyard completes the romantic picture. Regrettably we will be located upstairs in a private area, however this may change depending on numbers. Cuisine is French Classic united with Australian and Asian influence to suit the Australian climate; making Vamps a favourite haunt for locals.

This establishment epitomizes just how a well managed local establishment can produce dependable, yet variable cuisine at a reasonable price and last 25 years if done conscientiously by restaurateurs' who care.

This is a BYO where they generally do not even charge corkage and accordingly you immediately find a reason to have a sound rapport with the owners and their team giving you even more reason to want to return to the restaurant.

Do not expect to be at Guillaumes or the 3 hatters; rather expect to be at a lovely local place where good nosh and wine arrangements are provided on reasonable consumer terms while retaining good bonhomie and ambience.

One restaurant critic said:-

"In a city where restaurants are trying to out create each other with cutting edge techniques, go back to Vamp's for down to earth, simple French food in an intimate and homely atmosphere."

I just happen to agree with the critic!

Expect to enjoy some top shelf wines you would not usually consume to match the lovely French ambience. A great event to invite friends to, as well as potential new members.
