Overview
IWFS New South Wales (Australia)
The New South Wales Branch of the International Wine and Food Society was founded on 14 November 1983.
The branch holds a number of functions a year, where members enjoy sharing food, wine and camaraderie at a wide variety of venues. Sydney has a wide range of restaurants and we are able to enjoy different cuisines with wines from both Australia and the rest of the world.
Functions vary from casual weekday dining to serious black tie dinners. Weekend Getaways also feature. On an annual basis, some of the wine enthusiasts in the branch are keen to share some very serious wine and food, with themes such as 1st growth 1982 Bordeaux. A 1996 Grand Cru Burgundy dinner has also been held on Sydney’s beautiful harbor at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.
Members also participate regularly in the various Regional Festivals held by the Society within the Asia Pacific Zone, as well as International Festivals held around the world. Our branch was also host of the 2023 APZ Regional Festival in Sydney.
We have an exciting schedule of events lined up for 2024 - for further details, please visit our Events Page.
